NEWSLETTER: APRIL, 2005
There is singing and then again there is singing and boy can these little Mexican kids sing! If you don't believe it, join us in one of our Bible clubs. Our clubs meet in the evening. It's dark and sometimes cold and even rainy but still they come. The clubs are held in local churches that let us use their "humble" facilities. If necessary we use tents and a generator. Our programs include singing, games and a Bible story, even homework! The gospel of Jesus Christ is being seeded here. We feel that the greatest message these boys and girls will ever hear is that Jesus loves them - even the poorest of them.
Paul Alvarado is the director of our club program, and he is good! The kids love him. He has been working with us for more than five years. We have a couple of teams but we need more. In every one of the seven areas in which we work we have hundreds of kids that would love a club program; unfortunately, we just don't have the staff. It's a shame that we can't take full advantage of the growing opportunities we have. We would appreciate your prayers for our club program. I'll include severa l pictures here and you can see the excitement and energy.
We appreciate you helping make our club ministry possible. To many of these boys and girls their club program is the bright spot of the week. Thanks so much. Another request for prayer. Much of our ministry is on wheels. We go around the city and into these many barrios to carry on ministry. Our team is literally on the road every day. I'm sure you have noticed the jump in gas prices. So have we. To make matters worse, our older vans are gas guzzlers. Another stretch of faith. Thanks again for your investment in our ministry! In His love, von |
